About This Preserve

Willow Creek Preserve is one of the most ecologically diverse properties in the Glacial Lakes Conservancy portfolio. Spanning wetlands, upland forest, and restored prairie, it provides critical habitat for a wide range of native plant and animal species.

The preserve's wetland areas act as natural water filters, improving water quality in the surrounding watershed. The upland forest provides nesting habitat for migratory birds, while the prairie sections support native pollinators and wildflowers throughout the growing season.

Willow Creek is also home to GLC's beloved Arbor Day tree planting events, where local youth come together each spring to plant trees and learn about the importance of land conservation. These hands-on experiences help cultivate the next generation of environmental stewards.
